The Attenborough Building comprises a 52 metre tower and a low-rise in-situ cast building, it was designed by Arup Associates and constructed 1968–70 with Ove Arup as the chief engineers. The tower is constructed with a cast in-situ concrete frame and is clad with pre-cast concrete panels. The distinctive slanting aluminium-framed windows protrude outwards at the bottom to provide draught-free ventilation.
