The master plan for the new Brunel University was made by Richard Sheppard in 1965, Sheppard Robson & Partners were responsible for the design of the communal buildings, library, lecture centre and residences. Associated architects were Stillman & Eastwick-Field founded in 1949 by the architects John Stillman and John and Elizabeth Eastwick-Field, a married couple. SEF designed the laboratories and technical buildings of the engineering complex
